Support and Help Improve Local Library Services

Enhance library service beyond the basic level of service provided by grants from our member municipalities and the provincial government.

Your donations help Shortgrass Library System and its member libraries to provide better service to residents of southeastern Alberta.

• More new books, magazines, music CD's and video DVD's or VHS tapes



• Better furnished and equipped libraries



• Access to more online resources -- patrons can search these full text databases from home!



• Services to specific community groups (children, homebound, business, etc.)



• Improved library services, particularly in the areas of childhood literacy, special needs, access to new information technology, and children's programs.



• Enhanced building programs at our member libraries to ensure that all have convenient access to library services.

Our member libraries encourage donations and have fundraising activities, and may have a Friends of the Library group that assists the library in many ways including fundraising -- click on the underlined text to visit the friends webpages.

Public libraries provide children and adults with the tools for life-long learning as well as recreation, and serve as information centres for business and other community groups.

Regional library systems bring enhanced levels of service to their member libraries and their patrons and gifts to them provide enhancements to all member libraries.
