The Shortgrass Library System, including the Brooks Public Library, is a member of The Alberta Library. The Alberta Library is a province-wide library consortium that works closely with its members to promote universal, unrestricted access to the materials and resources in Alberta's libraries. As a member of this consortium, Brooks Public Library's resident partrons have access to The Alberta Library Card which allows its users walk-in access to over 240 participating TAL-Card libraries throughout Alberta. Unfortunately, non-resident patrons do not have access to this program at this time. Resident patrons also have access to the TAL Online search engine which provides Internet-based access to over 250 library catalogues in the province. The TAL Online search engine conveniently allows users to find where specific materials are located so that their local library can easily request access to them.
